The Dusty Pilgrims’ wanderings brought us together in southern Vermont to play string band music with a repertoire that covers bluegrass, swing, folk, blues, rock, string jazz and more.
From Kansas to Peru to Maple Corner, through white-outs and heat-waves, whether by train, truck, riverboat or steam-powered aeroplane we’ve been across continents in a quest to find and play songs of life on the road.
Around a Pilgrims’ campfire you’ll hear tunes about highwaymen, gamblers, travelers
in search of long lost love, and weary souls just trying to make it back home.  There are quiet, pretty numbers when we’re playing for dinner, and high-energy, up-tempo songs when we’re playing for beers at a barn dance.   Let’s hope the old beer bucket doesn’t have a hole in it….
While the Dusty Pilgrims started as a duo, these days we are more often a trio, consisting of Jason Saltman on the doghouse bass; Dave Arnold on mandolin, guitar and vocals; and Rob Macgregor on guitar and vocals.
From time to time and depending on the occasion we'll add some of our good friends and fellow travelers in from life on the road, to play as a quartet or quintet.
